    Rathinanadhi was our chief guest. Avangadhan aduppu patha vachanga. The "pongal torch" (similar to Olympic torch) which was used to ignite aduppu, came from Himalayas after doing special poojas LOL - Shanmuharajan

    From what i see in Sun TV news, looks like lot of effort is taken to preserve the tradition and spread the tradition/culture to new generations in urban area
